*This post is mostly for our family far away, I think most of our friends have already visited us. A
BIG MAHALO to the EQ for helping us move (CJ, Scott, Tim, Coleman) and for carrying our heavy couch up 5 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. And a big thank you to Trina for watching the kids while we moved boxes for six hours!*

When we moved from Bethesda to Silver Spring, our new apartment's management stopped by to welcome us and to drop off a gift - a steering wheel car lock! Aaron came to me clutching this gift with a wide-eyed look and said, "That's reassuring!" I had to laugh.
I remembered how back in Bethesda, a good friend and I laughed about one of our neighbors who used one of these locks in her car everyday. In Bethesda! Her car wasn't especially expensive or new. My friend, who will remain anonymous, joked: "Does she think she lives in the Ghetto?"
Maybe she moved from Silver Spring?
When my father heard about this generous gift, he said sincerely, "How thoughtful!" So, I guess there's always a silver lining.

Yes, we moved from center of convenience, friends and safety, but it's not so bad here either. We're close enough that Elise, Elijah and I can still have friends over to swim and play. Yay for the pool and for friends that come to visit us! (I remembered my camera! Good friends, Anni & Elizabeth, Tiana & Ellie)

We have an actual dining area. This table and chairs set was only $129 - we love IKEA!

We just got a plot in the community garden. I can't wait to start planting tomatoes and green onions and squash - I hope I'm not to late!

While our bathroom is a classy pink and black, (it's lovely with all our blue, don't you think?)

I like the sink!
My favorite thing about being on the 5th floor is all the light that pours in - even if it's at it brightest at 7:30 in the evening!

Aaron and I have an actual room - with two roomy closets!

And our kitchen is no longer a hallway!

While it took some getting used to, we're settling great!

Very nice! Beautiful home and surrounding area. Looks like the family fits right in. Light is good. You will be happy there. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures!
Thank you taking us on a tour of the apartment and neighborhood.
Elijah is growing up so fast! He looks like a little boy and not a baby anymore. Elise is still cute as ever. :)
I loved the pictures...it was as if I was there! The apartment is awesome, lots of light and space...I love the dining table...such a great buy! The community garden will be fun too. (Do they sell green onion seeds there for saimin? They grow from seed really fast) And a pool and park closeby? Wow! Life is good.
I'm so glad that you guys are settled in. Your new place looks really nice and so does the pool! I can't wait to come over for a visit.
Watching your kids for 6 hours while you moved boxes was nothin'. When we moved, you watched Summer for 2 DAYS. Call me when you want to do our next temple swap - the temple is closed for the summer cleaning now, but opens again on the 12th. Thanks for having us over to swim this week, and see you again soon!
it really is more spacious. i'm happy that you guys have more room - and an actual bedroom! that's great...and the welcome gift is hilarious.
Your new apartment is beautiful! Just the space you need for your growing family! Thanks for all the pictures! I love the lighting, the kitchen, and stylish bathroom. I bet the kids are having so much fun with the pool and more play areas!
Congrats on your move!
We were so sad to see you leave us, but glad you are still close. You don't need a pool to entice us to come over, we love just coming to see you!
p.s. can you email me some of those pool pics, please?
