Pumpkin Carving

Inspired by Tiana's amazing pumpkin creations, we decided to give it a go this year... Let's just say, my appreciation for her family's talent has quadrupled! She creates the design and her dad carves.

We waited till Aaron got home from his trip to start.

The kids were estatic to finally start this project! And since Elise had done this with Gina at JoySchool, she quickly put herself to work scooping out all the seeds. (My fingers look so weird in this picture!)

Elijah even tried some!

Our pumpkin carving tools came with patterns. It was all drawn out for me but I had my doubts. At this point I was thinking, "Am I doing this right?) I know now things I could have done to make it easier.

Oh well. It turned out okay and the first thing Elise noticed this morning was that the kitty cat was done! So that makes it worth it.

Jackie, you did a great job carving that pumpkin. It's beautiful!
Mahealani and Elijah, thanks for being great helpers for mommy and daddy.
Jacelyn used our fiber-optic pumpkin for their YSA Halloween Party and when they played at the IHOP on Halloween night. The pumpkin got the children's attention, so that evening the group made $51.00 in tips.

Love,
Mom

What a cool pumpkin. Jackie, it was so wonderful to see you on Friday. I love you so much! Thank you for your kind words on my blog. Sometimes I feel sort of silly about all that political stuff, but it really does matter, I think, and I appreciate your kindness on the subject!

Fabulous! Well done! I agree, carving is the tricky part, that is why I do the designing! Though my dad insists the carving is the easy part. Whatever. You did great!
