Calamity in the Kitchen (A story through pictures.)

It was pretty disastrous. I took pictures because I am striving to be a better cook (I did not think I was documenting a terrible mistake!) and I was inspired by Trina so I made a goal to try 50 new recipes this year. I wanted to try Rachelle's "Sizzlin Szechuan Chicken" (Click here for the TRUE recipe.) off the Cooking for the Clan blog - it looked so good, and is healthy to boot.

I stir-fried the veggies and chicken seperately, I didn't have summer squash so I was going to use broccoli instead. Everything seemed okay.

Hmmm.... after I threw in the sauce, everything looked curiously bubbly. I decided to give it a few more minutes... Bad idea!!

Aaron to the rescue! This is what our dinner became. : )

So, what happened? I looked on the counter and discovered I mixed these two up - don't ask me how. So contrary to what it says on the box, not always such a bright idea. : )

Jackie! Of course you can link our blog to yours! I hope it's okay that I linked yours to ours! :-) You are such a wonderful person and I'm so grateful to know you...so gracious, kind, sweet and no guile. I want to be more like you!! Your kids are absolutely adorable and I can't believe that they are that big now! Crazy how time flies!

That is hilarious! Blame it on being a mother of two. Sometimes you get so busy doing so many things you get distracted. You are human after all! :)

Jackie - that is too funny. I'm sorry your dinner got ruined. Hopefully it'll turn out for you next time.

Wow, Jackie! That's some concoction there! Good luck on the 50 recipes - it was an interesting challenge for me, and now I try new recipes all the time. Hopefully you'll get through your 50 in less time than it took me - a year and a half.

Oh my, that looks so familiar. I have made a meal just like that. good for you that you are taking the whole cooking thing on. I have just kind of avoided the whole situation. Mike is a fabulous cook... we will just leave it at that.

Dont you hate it when a meal you have done all the work for goes down the drain, literally? That happens to me a lot. I agree with Michelle that this will be a fun memory memorialized here.
